Childcare That Matters is at the heart of our Philosophy.
Childcare That Matters is at the heart of our philosophy. We achieve this by providing a safe, secure and warm ‘home away from home’ environment. We embrace Tiriti o Waitangi and value Whanaungatanga and Manaakitanga as our ‘way of being, doing and knowing.’
We pride ourselves in our ability to create respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau and our community; our approach is inclusive of all children ensuring a strong foundation with culture identities in partnership with family and whānau. Our kaupapa focus is working alongside your tamariki; encouraging them to be confident and competent learners, as we celebrate each child’s unique individuality. The needs and interests of all children are valued and recognised, encouraging each child to become independent and lifelong learners.
Our kaiako plan a wide range of experiences guided by Te Whāriki our Early Childhood Curriculum, along with our local curriculum.
When you hear the term ‘old fashioned values,’ what do you think of? Here at our place, it means working together as a team, whether that be folding our washing, feeding the birds or in our garden harvesting vegetables. It means being grateful for what we have and appreciating the small things: a muddy puddle to jump in, or a caterpillar on a leaf. We respect each other, our resources, and the environment. We are inclusive, kind to all – everyone has a place here! We slow down, take our time, and enjoy each other and our surroundings.
