Verwelkoming, I’m Marja Smith (pronounced Maya).
I am a second-generation immigrant from Holland and third-generation from Wales! My kaleidoscope of loves includes celebrating difference as well as similarities, creating order and beauty, kindness, laughter, music and singing, flowers, fields and the beach, rain and sunshine, great narratives within books and movies, long walks, meals and companionship with loved ones, colour, and all things fabric!
I have trained and taught in all sectors including ECE, primary, secondary, and teaching English as an additional language to migrant and international students. However, my first love is ECE because of its unique curricula of principles and strands that enable us as teachers to cherish, nurture and empower our littlest human beings as they explore our world and who they are! I feel so excited and privileged to be able to belong and contribute to Chris, Shelly’s and your Impact ‘home away from home’!
