Early Childhood Teacher, Kaiako
Kia ora koutou; Talofa!
I started my teaching journey in 2016, having previously worked in the advertising industry for 7 years. I have a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and a Bachelor of Design (Graphic Design).
I am New Zealand born and bred; I have also travelled and lived abroad for a number of years. I live with my husband, Justin, our daughter Maisie, and son Niko, who also join me here at IMPACT, and our cat, Charlie. In my down-time I really enjoy baking, painting, reading, spending time with our wider families, going out for walks and going on little get-aways as a whanau.
Throughout my life I have been guided by three core values which, as a kaiako, I continue to practice and share with our tamariki:
- Manaakitanga: showing kindness, care, aroha and awhi to everyone and everything.
- Mahi tahi: working together as one unit, showing support and solidarity to others.
- Whanau (whanaungatanga): love and appreciation of not just my own, but the wider whanau we have here at IMPACT. Knowing our tamariki and their families is what makes my role as kaiako even stronger and so important!
