Kia ora koutou. My name is Praleen Johnson.
I am from South Africa but before moving to New Zealand my husband and I lived in Ireland. We’ve been living out of South Africa for 21 years, two years in Ireland and 19 years in Whangarei. We had our beautiful Kiwi kids here who are 16, 14 and 12. My girl is finishing her last year in Whangarei Girls High. My oldest boy is doing his second year in Whangarei Boys High and my youngest boy is finishing his last year in Whangarei Intermediate School. My husband Craig is a Qualified Chef and has been for over 20yrs but has decided to leave the cheffing industry to go into retail management. My husband and I have both been catering part-time for the Whangarei Theatre Company for the last 12 years and have been loving it.
I started my ECE journey relieving over a year ago and was recently given the opportunity—and am so grateful for it—to work with this amazing IMPACT team. I’ve always loved to care and nurture for children being very cautious so I could listen, understand and support their needs. To help them in anyway to be strong, confident and to help them know that they are loved greatly. To create an environment that is safe for them while still being fun.
