Ying
Kia ora koutou. My name is Ying Jin.
I came to New Zealand in 2009 as an international student, graduated from AUT with a Postgraduate Degree in Applied Science in 2011, and recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) in 2023. I lived in Auckland for eight years before moving to Whangarei in 2017. I now live in Maungakaramea with my husband and two children. We certainly enjoy nature and country life.
The core of my professional teaching philosophy is to respect children’s diversity. I respect that no “one size fits all” teaching approach will work for all children. I believe teachers must genuinely understand the needs and wishes of the children and act responsively to show respect for children’s interests and their funds of knowledge. This is a never-ending professional learning journey. I am passionate about encouraging and supporting children with their learning processes while developing my skills and knowledge around teaching in an ECE environment. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
